All Our Viral Heroes Are Weirdos

What's going on with our viral heroes? Kai the Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker (previously; previouslier) was just arrested in a killing, Charles Ramsey has a history of domestic abuse, and Antoine Dodson just renounced his homosexuality.
This post was deleted for the following reason: This is sort of a mega-"news of the weird" post that doesn't really add much to the extensive previous discourse about any of these people. -- restless_nomad
Three Reasons Heroes Tend to be Weirdos (warning: Cracked).

With apologies, I omitted the "previously" links for Ramsay and Dodson.

What's going is that they were never really heroes so much as they were called heroes but appreciated like sideshow freaks.

People who are "weird" will not stop being "weird" just because you happen to approve of something they did.
Also, non-weird heroes don't go viral.

As was noted in the MetaTalk thread about Hatchet Kai earlier, Miko certainly seems prescient in the "previouslier" thread:
But there is another thing I recognize which is not so benign, which is that leaping to sudden violent rage to perform a 'rescue' on more than one occasion is simply a red flag. No matter how much peace and love someone preaches, if they can go from calm to head-bludgeoning that quickly, especially more than once, there is not peace at his heart.
It absolutely doesn't matter, you're right in that much. But if folks are entitled to celebrate him for the thinnest of reasons, I'm certainly entitled to want to look deeper into the tale

Unfortunately, this seems to vindicate the posters in the last thread (the Vice article followup) who were alarmed by what seemed to be a zeal for violence in this guy.

It's getting so that you just can't try and squeeze hope for humanity out of non sequitur spouting loons on the news anymore.
