Bicycle infantry were a surprisingly big deal from the Boer war to the Second World War. It's a way of moving people around quickly that doesn't require fodder or gasoline, so for about fifty years most countries equipped some of their soldiers with bikes. Apparently bicycle soldiers needed a bicycle band, so here we are.

I understood the post title to be a play on the name of that particular motorcycle club, yes.... Er, you were aware of Dykes on Bikes already, yes?

If I ever get a nice bicycle garage, wikipedia's recruitment poster for the Army Cyclist Corps is going on the wall.

They have a glockenspiel on a bicycle. Try putting that on one of your aerial drones. You can't do it, can you?

Keeping cadence.
Keeping formation.

Your favorite band cycles? John Philip Seuss?

Can someone who reads Dutch check this out? Because regardless of what it says on the tin, I have the feeling this isn't an active unit in anyone's army.

Even if you don't speak dutch, the pictures on this website are gold.
