The Problems of the 1st and 3rd Worlds have been well covered. And in 2011 we found out about 5th World Problems and 6th World Problems. But there are new worlds and new problems (and new ways to express them). Let's explore some shall we?

I was just talking about the slow and steady rise of new forms of "unspeakable, unknowable horror" media bubbling up form the internet and seeping into mass culture.
I have this theory it's about the creeping back-of-the-neck feeling we have that Things Aren't Going To Get Better and we Broke The Planet.

Unfortunately, Your New Home at seventhworldproblems was closed some time ago by Your Friends in Administration & Management. Instead, the colors have updated to seventeenthworldproblems, which is nothing but a room containing a (clean, immaculate, beautiful) table. There is at present nothing on the (lovely, adoring, venerable) table, but this is not expected to cause problems.

Also, because I didn't see them linked anywhere above, happybadger's (the creator of /r/fifthworldproblems, as well as a lot of the splinters) comments on where the place came from and what it's about are really insightful. Everyone at the time was very much just running with their own idea of whatever "the idea" might have been, and that was encouraged, but it's interesting to see the clarification of the original concept.

Just spent a few hours trying to decipher the battle between the 1000th world hive, the mudpeople, flying squid, sentient clocks, Mermaids, Space Pirates, and intelligent bird and snake creatures, and all I really learned is that boa constrictors can turn door handles.

The propagation of New Worlds is seriously going to reduce the value of First World Problems. And that is DEFINITELY a First World Problem. We may even reach Peak Worlds in our lifetime.

That's a pretty good scene from Mama (much scarier with sound), which I see gifs of all day long. You have no idea the creeping lunacy that slouches its way across my Tumblr dashboard. It's all this and this and this and this all day long.

Yeah, r/Fearme seemed kinda creepy and neato when I first joined reddit but now that it pops up on my front page when I log in I find I'm able to place way too much of it from recent, well-known, and/or classic horror movies and it's kinda lost the cool factor for me. The captions and titles get old fast.
I'm not sure why these links seem to be generating more reddit hate here. These subreddits are fun and creative.

I thought I remembered 0th world problems being more fleshed out, but it's surprisingly empty for seemingly prime joke territory. I imagine a similar vibe to this classic Onion article: Earthquake Sets Japan Back To 2147. That, or Culture citizens complaining being bored.
