Go Down With The Ship

Whenever anyone posts a fannish parody video to the blue, this is basically what I hope it's going to be like.

Great production values. Charming nerds. Excellent filking. Actually funny. Just insidery enough to be even funnier if you've spent any time in fandom.

Double Thumbs Up, Sir.

The problem with my favorite non-canon ships is that I'd have to make a sockpuppet account to talk about them or I'd never be able to show my face here again.

This is brilliant.

Raine Sage/Jade Curtiss forever. I don't care that they're from different games. They would be awesome.

1. Faith and Buffy. Obviously.
2. Jane and Beth (Mary Robinette Kowal's Shades of Milk and Honey. I'm still grumpy this didn't turn out to be canon.)
3. Siuan Sanche and Moiraine Damodred (they never even I mean come on they should have gotten to RRRAAAAGH)
4. Sansa Stark and Margaery Tyrell? Apparently this is a TV show thing but I am totally willing to ship it even in advance of watching season 3.

I don't actually watch enough mainstream media to have much other than literary ships. When I do, there aren't enough female characters to even ship together. Hmm. Will have to think more.

Are you sad that Beth hasn't shown up in the other books yet too? She's fabulous, though I never imagined her with Jane. I can see why you'd go for that, though. They'd make a fantastic old lesbian couple. They'd have a life of reading to each other and snuggling in front of fires.

Great, now I want to go read Privilege of the Sword again.

No, it was really just situational. Beth's scandal could have been a lesbian affair! Jane and Vincent are adorable together, it's fine, I just always want more lesbians.

Fandom left LJ behind SO LONG AGO. The only time I think anybody ever goes there anymore is for the anonmeme's.

I think I included it as some strange homage to Cleo linda, who's recaps never fail to crack me up.

The accused stood mute and the judge ordered a plea of nolo contendere entered into the record. I don't even get on the shipping bus that much and I know these feels.

Ah, someone just posted this on my Facebook wall and I rushed here to post it to the blue but OF COURSE The Whelk has beaten me to it.

....okay well the thread's been up a while and probably not many folks are reading it anymore, sooooo....

I used to be in Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom, and I shipped Jet/Zuko something FIERCE.

restless_nomad: If you haven't---and if I haven't misunderstood your comment, you haven't---read Jordan's New Spring you really want to. The independent-book novella version, not the novelette in Legends I.

Really.

Really really.

Of course I have, that's why I'm so annoyed about the situation.

We're all familiar with The Toast's Femslash Fridays, right? (yes the link goes to Kaylee/Inara, because it's a cohesive argument damnit, "Simon Tam is perhaps the least convincing heterosexual on television in the last fifteen years. He has a lovely face and is a terrific brother and really outstanding moral fiber, but he has never once in his life wanted to touch a woman’s body outside of his capacity as a doctor. Search within yourself; you know it to be true.")

I have not been following it but I need to. Yes, someone to pay attention to Alex Cabot! I do not ship her with anyone but me, but yes!
