Slow down YouTube with YouTubeSlow

YouTubeSlow is pretty straightforward to use: you can either enter a YouTube URL on the site, or add "slow" to the URL of any YouTube video (remove the "S" from HTTPS, too). Then you can watch speed painting at a slower speed, adjusting the playback speed with a slider. Sorry, the audio doesn't slow down. (Hat tip to Greg_Ace)

If you enter the youtube html5 beta (http://www.youtube.com/html5), you get the ability to slow down the video to half speed from the settings on the video itself (and it keeps the audio the same pitch, as well)... useful for learning fast musical passages. You can also speed up the video to 1.5x or 2x (useful for long lectures).

You don't have to limit yourself to 1.5x and 2x. Run VLC, choose "Open network stream (Ctrl-N)", paste the youtube URL, and then you can adjust the playback rate using the [ and ] keys in fine increments of 0.1x, all while keeping the audio at the same pitch.

Rhomboid, super keen! I love VLC, and it's full of features I've never realized were there.
