Hipsterized NFL logos. The text is meh, but the illustrations are fun.

The Jaguar is far and away the best. That smirk.

What's a hipster?

Anyone younger and more popular than you, I think.

I love the Jaguar.

Oh hey, these are by the guy who does The Draw Play, a football webcomic. You might have seen his NFL division caricatures, which went viral a week or so ago.

(As a Colts fan that AFC South one is hilarious.)

The Jaguars and the Panthers logos are stone cold wins - and I can see the Seahawks and '9ers logos taking off with the fanbase.

The Patriots one looks like a Patriots fan to me. Did they skip that one?

Wait, Subarus are ironic now? When did that happen?

Also people who like things you might not.

I am finding it more and more difficult to relate to the hipster callouts lately. I think it started with the "Vice is Hip" Twitter account. I'm like, yeah those sound like things Vice would cover if it was actually a thing, but then I would also be interested in reading it if it was actually a thing and probably so would you. I totally don't get it.

This feels lazy, stereotype-y and grar-y.

It's certainly no HIPSTERMERKEL.

So is MGD, any type of facial hair, hats, dubstep, facial piercings, bikes, organic food, celiac disease, coffee, scarves, chuck taylors, madras, IPAs, and of course, Helvetica.

So, the cast of the first few seasons of The Real World?

I don't know what teams any of these logos are supposed to be for, because I don't watch football. Because I don't have a TV.

What's a hipster?

So tired. Agree from its use and use and use and use and use that some people consider it a thing and move on.

Also people who like things you might not.

I'm not so sure they actually like any of the things they embrace. It's more like they embrace anything you might not like in order to not be like you, no matter how much discomfort it might actually cause them.

Many of these are already in use by flat-track roller-derby teams.

Feh. My local team's logo is a 16" square linocut and is completely impossible to embroider on a New Era cap. And instead of football, we play burlesque cricket. Instead of Gatorade, we drink a locally-produced cucumber-kale-fennel sports drink.

Actually this sounds fun, someone please invent burlesque cricket

Mod note: Don't pre-doom the thread - moving on is always an option.

Steelers and Chiefs were weak. The rest were pretty good.

I'm not sure about the hipster logos (I actually like the Bears one in spite of myself and want to punch the Patriots one, so in that respect actually seem pretty true-to-life).

However, this thread brought this NFC North illustration to my attention, so it is a definitely a winner. I am considering having a Super Bowl party just so I can use it as the invite.

The Browns could actually use that design, it would be an improvement.

If you think that's great, his comic about the NFC North's quest for the playoffs this year will make you LOL or weep or both, lolweep?

I like the Browns' uniforms, but damn. We Browns fans got enough to feel bad about without pointing out problems wiht the uniforms.

As a native Buckeye, I wanna like the Browns, but they make it so hard. I wouldn't change the jersey, just the helmet.

I LOVE the Browns plaid helmet. I thought most of these were weak sauce, going for the easy joke, but I would definitely root for the plaid-helmet Browns every day of the season.

(OK, I would probably still root for the Lions, but I would at least consider rooting for the Browns, which I currently do not.)
