POSEIDON REX: HALF DINOSAUR! HALF SEA MONSTER! ALL TROUBLE! [SLYT]
"A small, secluded island off the coast of Belize suddenly finds itself terrorized by a deadly predator from the planet’s distant past, when deep-sea divers accidentally awaken an ancient evil. Jackson Slate and his team of underwater cave explorers unearth much more than long-lost Mayan treasure while plumbing the depths of a world famous blue hole. They disturb a creature that’s been hibernating for over 60,000 years—a rampaging behemoth of death and destruction not only at sea but also on land."

I honestly cannot tell if this is a joke, parody, or real.

Heh. Apparently real.

I honestly cannot tell if this is a joke, parody, or real.

Sufficiently inexpensive CGI VFX production has basically collapsed the partitions between these.

Top marks for the name alone.

Excellent! This means we are one step closer to Poseidon Rex vs. Aztec Rex! Which means we're this much closer to Aztec Rex III: Rex in da Hood.

I would call this effort insufficiently expensive production. Current FPS games are rendering better monsters in real time.

It looked like they just spliced part of Jurassic Park into their movie.

I don't believe anything like this unless it's attacking Tokyo. It's in the rules.

Needs more Gene Hackman.

Tokyo wasn't in the budget. It's attacking South Florida where everyone inexplicably has vague Caribbean accents, where it won't even be the strangest animal attack that day.

I was shocked to not see an Asylum Films moniker on the trailer.

Coming to SyFy, right?

Awesome. I'm sold.

Needs more quotes from Raymond Roussel surreptitiously slipped into the dialog.

I never knew there were so many so white people in Belize.

According to IMDB, this was originally supposed to star Corin Nemec, but he was seriously injured during filming. So instead of Parker Lewis vs. Underwater Dinosaur, they got the White Lighter from Charmed. Downgrade.

Directed by Mark Lester, who made Commando and Firestarter. It looks shitty and cheap, but the guy has some chops, right?

This looks freaking awesome even given the apparently illicit switch from F-16s to an F-18 at the end of the video

I for one would love to see the SyFy original movie 'South Florida'

Eviemath, the filming locations I recognized are all in the "Fort George Tourism Zone", which is usually brimming with white folk fresh off the cruise ships. There's no shortage of them on most of the local cayes either, locals and visitors alike.

I liked it when they mirror-flipped the F-16s for whatever reason and just didn't give a shit that the one in the foreground had huge lettering noting the 60th anniversary of the Wisconsin ANG (motto: The Terror of the Caribbean?). Because not giving a shit is cheaper than spending an hour looking for stock footage of F-16s actually pointed to the right.
