"Teachers are among the most dedicated, passionate and hardworking professionals – a few of the qualities that make the best Uber partner drivers. As communities are heading back to school, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the educators who are also our Uber partner drivers. Whether it’s an afternoon shift or a summertime gig, partnering with Uber provides teachers with the flexibility and opportunity they need to continue creating a foundation of excellence for students across the country."

Is this actually an article celebrating that teachers need to take second jobs, even during the school year? Do they not even have a PR department to knock them up the back of the head?

I'm guessing from the tags that this is just a "look at these assholes" post? Or is there something deeper to appreciate here?

Uber really gets how to treat workers well. You'd think their employees would want improved pay or maybe benefits. In reality they just want a tone deaf thank you note for breaking their backs working a second job because people do seem to get how poorly paid they are. Its a good thing Uber isn't part of the problem that real wages are in decline or anything.

All I'm saying is that Nick Nolte wouldn't have driven an Uber vehicle.
