These are great. I love the utterly unstatuesque Wolverine, the way he ought to be.

Number 9 ("Come back next week") is rather spot on.

Kyle Baker is awesome.

These are fantastic!

Kyle Baker is just the best. I always held out a little hope that somebody would make an animated version of Dick Tracy in his style.

Kyle had that Marvel internship already while we were at (NYC's nerdiest) high school together, and he used to pass around Xeroxed one-page superhero comics that he drew in his spare time, with the same ironic what-if sensibility. Wish I'd kept some!

Number 9 ("Come back next week") is rather spot on.

The weird thing is that, in continuity, it isn't. Jean Gray wouldn't die until 2003.

Baker is kind of a genius. I still remember with great fondness his totally insane _The Shadow_ run.

Agreed. I would lpay cash money for Baker's. Shadow to be made into a series. Flying car, materialistic sons, resentfully aged sidekicks, there is nothing funnier than his take on pulp heroes in the modern age.

Why I Hate Saturn is like the best thing ever.

Oh, that's Kyle Baker's website.

Did Baker come on to that Shadow run after Bill Sinkevitchsicanneverspellthis or was BS just doing the covers? I remember really loving the way he used his style to seem like Bill's but not the same as. Jeebus that was a long time ago.

I also loved Why I Hate Saturn.

I find it hard to decide if Why I Hate Saturn or The Cowboy Wally Show is the funniest thing ever written. Maybe it's both.

I'd have to give the edge to Cowboy Wally, if only for "Welcome to the Foreign Legion. Here's your balloon."
