Definitely better than I imagined it. Wonderfully understated.

The inside of the wolf's mouth looks exactly like the inside of my dog's mouth. Unsurprising maybe given how genetically similar they are, but even though I know that I still think of them as very different animals.

This is like a horror movie for lemmings.

What was that whining at the end all about? For that matter, what do wolves have against human technology and infrastructure? There was that other wolf who tried to eat a mic, and a wolfdog who kept digging up water pipes in its habitat and causing flooding... but anyhow, this video is a neat example of the fact that wolves often use their jaws to explore novel things in their environment. John Shivik writes about wolves who would test fladry lines with their teeth and tongue, more out of curiosity than an actual intent to destroy.

Next time they should consider making the camera out of something other than steaks.

This looks remarkably like playtime with my dog. So much so that I had the instant reaction to close my mouth and shove my arms out. My dog's favourite thing to do is to attempt to eat my adenoids.

sciatrix: I like how the wolf seems to be trying to pull the camera off and lick it at the same time.Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! I know about this!
I've raised Dexter on a raw meat diet, and started at 9 weeks (after owning him 1 week) with handheld chicken. It was very strongly bonding; he'd stare at me with his big puppy browns while crunching through the meat and bones.
AND... I discovered that he flicks his tongue out with every single bite, apparently to survey the obstacles he's about to bite. His teeth have bitten me maybe 5 times in as many years while eating food from my hand, usually because I moved mid-bite (not his fault). But that tongue action is part of why: he tends to know EXACTLY where the chicken ends and my hand begins, and can safely bite 5mm from my skin with enough force to crack bones in a single chomp.
From that, I am betting this is part of the process for many wild carnivores. Chomping through a piece of thigh meat requires quite a different bite than crunching a rib bone in two.
