Have you ever thought your life would be better if it included a giant, realistic felted cat head mask? If so, you would be correct.

I want one of those so I can wear it and then get on my hands and knees and slowly peek around the corner into the room my girlfriend is in.

I wonder how actual cats react to that.

I finally understand those furry people.

Surely the best thing to do would be to get a bunch of them and stand just outside the streetlamp's light on a lonely intersection.

See also: the rest of Kigurumi culture. How'd I know this would be out of Japan?

1. Buy giant realistic felted cat head mask
2. Create a early-hours cable access show where you stare silently into the camera wearing the mask and nothing else except for a handful of frames showing a twisted screaming face
3. ???
4. Profit

Are you trying to say howling at the moonlight on a hot summer's night?

I originally read "felted" as "fetid" and thought, nah, that doesn't sound like it would make my life better.

Well, I never thought that *before*.

Goint straight to Sato-san's photo page at FB affords many more views of the amazing mask.

Creepy? Why is this creepy? I'm asking seriously because now I wonder if there's something wrong with me that I don't find it creepy.

It has been suggested that once they've got a body to go with it, this should be put on a BigDog and let wander around a city.

Not creepy. Neat!

I should make one of these to help me bond with my cats.

I love that 3/8 of the most popular posts in the sidebar are cat-related, and 3 of the remaining 5 are about other animals (a rabbit, carp, and a dog). Both of the dog ones (one of which is counted as 'cat-related' because it involves a cat) are about dogs falling into water.

That's a really amazing cat head. It's a BIT outsized for a human to wear, but I think that's part of its charm. Would be fun to take on a tour of furry conventions, although really the rest of the body also needs to be made for that to be truly successful.

I wonder how HOT that thing is, and how well one can see out of it.

(Also, it's felted? That's awesome. I'm getting geared up to start trying my hand at needle felting because I need ears to go with my tail.)

That head is made of win. I want one. A lot. So much so that I have actually looked up how hard this needle-felting thing is. Not very, for little easy things (as you would expect). For giant cat heads, probably a lot harder.

I want one of these even though wool makes me itch and wearing it on my head would make me itch with the itch of a thousand simultaneous mosquito bites, and would probably involve me wanting to scratch my entire face off.

I want one of these so that I can wear it in front of my cat and see his expression of TOTAL UTTER WTF?!?!?!ery which will last all of 0.0000001 seconds before he is hiding under the nearest hide-able object. And also at work, because telling people where the toilets are and how to book internet PCs would be far more amusing if I were wearing a giant cat head.

I say that every night, though.

God, I want it so much. It would become my default "Do Not Disturb" sign at work.

Me, my headphones, and my giant cat head.

Just writing copy.

All day long.

Somehow I think this would only work if you were Michael Fassbender and had a cat-obsessed version of Maggie Gyllenhaal to stare at you.

With a head like this...I could do anything.

A friend brought home a bunny costume in one of the better made and more popular styles (you see it everywhere when you're looking for it). I shudder to think about how filthy the head was, but it's kinda the best thing ever. You can't help but be ridiculous and unsettling when you're wearing a giant animal head.

I wonder how actual cats react to that.

When I was eight I was a black cat for Halloween, with a fairly realistic furry costume that my mother made. Our cat saw me in it and she backed up and made a deep growly noise that we had never heard from her before (and heard only one other time after that, when a dog tried to paw at her through our porch screen). She was clearly petrified. I suspect that this cat head might do something similar.

There are currently not plans to manufacture the mask for retail sale, but the artists may entertain the idea of rental or sale after the exhibition.

I poked around and could not find any weight info. However I did find this interesting book by the artist, available through Amazon.co.jp and on Kindle, 羊毛フェルトで作る リアル猫人形 "youmou feruto tskuru riaru neko ningyou," literally wool-felt made real cat dolls.

The most awesome experience would be somebody coming along in the park prancer-sizing in the giant Amazon rubber horse head and there's you, performing Qi Gong with this thing on. It would be like crossing the streams.

If I got this, I promise I would only use it to scare small children.
