Tilting the Streets of San Francisco (Via)

Created by filmmaker Ross Ching (Previously), with Karen X. Cheng, of the the original #DonutSelfie video.
"The week before we filmed this, we ran all around San Francisco looking for steepest streets we could find (and gained some killer calve muscles).

The hardest part was coming up with ideas that made the gravity illusion look good - we tried lots of stuff that we thought would look good but didn’t work for various reasons (balloons got blown away, pouring water wasn’t visible enough on camera, moonwalking looked weird at an angle). Our favorite effect is the pendulum!"
Music: I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ By Scissor Sisters

SF Locations: Potrero Hill (22nd St), Nob Hill (Taylor St), Dolores Heights (Hill St) and Alamo Square

Photography with Similar Effects

Ha. The 22nd Street one (at :06) is near my house. It's not even the steepest one nearby, not that that stops me from panting and cursing when I walk up it.

If they are doing things that directly involve the streets of San Francisco, why would they not use the theme from Streets of San Francisco?

I'm not sure this is on the level, in fact, I'm pretty sure their perspective is skewed.

I loved the hills. My calves never looked better then when I lived in North Beach.

"Calve muscles"? Sounds painful.

Was expecting to see Karl Malden on a 45. WTF?

Pretty much chiming in on the adorable crowd. Kinda nice, in today's cynical world, to see people good-naturedly clowning around with no harm to anyone or anything (except for calf muscles).

Why are you all so impressed? Anyone can do this if they've got the inclination.

That was far more delightful than I expected.

This West Coast ‘tilting’ is impressive, but not nearly so difficult a feat as ‘Climbing the North Face of the Uxbridge Road.’

And Karen X. Cheng, previously.

Thank you! I searched before posting but came up empty.

yoink: some of us are like that tower in Pisa - we have the inclination, but we don't have the time.

It also reminds me of magnetic hills.
