i cannot stress enough how fucking goobery pandas are. every goobery panda video is nothing compared to being in the actual goobery presence of pandas, they are so fucking ridiculous. they spend like 50% of their day eating and 50% of their day napping and 100% of their day falling down while doing one or the other.

I liked the panda's "ohhhhhhhh, ewwwwwww" stuck-out tongue response when the keeper finally managed to get the medicine in its mouth

and the keeper's nimble leap away from the hugging pandas right at the end.

He should really play with them for a while after dosing them. The pandas are resisting because they know the fun's over as soon as they take the medicine /pandawhisperer

These are literally the moves I have to use to get my toddler to take medicine, expect that the pandas don't vomit the medicine all over the keeper at the end.

if you go to the wolong panda sanctuary in chengdu you can pay an undisclosed amount of money, probably like $250, to have a "private panda encounter" which i assume sounds better in chinese because in english it sounds like panda call girls, and anyway you put on scrubs and hug a juvenile (not a small baby, about halfway between these video pandas and a tiny baby one) panda and play with it under panda scientist supervision for half an hour. i did not get to do this because no one told me about it until the very last day we were there and you have to schedule it like a week in advance and my cousin had to drag me out of the park while i waved fistfuls of rmb and shrieked with impotent sobby rage.
