"Goals representing all 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoff teams are arranged in a circle, with Western Conference teams on the left, and Eastern Conference teams on the right. Higher-seeded teams are at the top of the circle. The goals tally cumulative scoring for each team (rather than goals against). When a puck crosses the goal line, a musical note plays." Stanley Cup Summed Up, by Bård Edlund.

I am assuming there is a sound representing THUNDEROUS BOOING OF GARY BETTMAN at the end of each season.

For realism.

Oh man, I totally had a similar idea to do this last year before the season began (except just for the Shark's 2013/2014 regular season, and with the different pitches assigned to different players. I wanted linemates to share a chord, so for example the top line of Thornton, Pavelski, Hertl would be assigned C, E, G.

Of course I'm sad that my procrastination resulted in Thornton not getting the C...

Musical representation of the Maple Leafs playoffs participation in the last decade.

Ladies and gentleman, your St. Louis Blues!

Perhaps.

That was pretty great (and that year's Flyers-Penguins series remains a marvel). However, I can't help but feel like it could have used a loud fart noise for every time Raffi Torres attempted to decapitate a great and noble Slovak and got his dumb ass suspended for 25 games.

Right? I love how it's represented here. A friend and I were sharing a lot of Danny Briere highlights in light of his retirement and he was a big factor in that series. Not only were 8 of those goals scored by him, he was also the inadvertent cause of Peter Laviolette getting up on the boards and trying to fight Dan Bylsma!

Also: the Buffalo Sabres' playoff efforts! Or really, hockey efforts in general.
