Lara McLeod was raped by her sister's fiancee. The police compelled her to report it and then arrested her because they thought she was lying.
The story just keeps getting worse from there.
"'The night I was raped, I said I wanted to be left alone,' Lara told BuzzFeed News in August. 'People say rape is serious and you should report it, but look what happened to me: I reported my rape, and they told me it never happened.'"

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, that's a horrible situation for sure, but there's been a few discussions on the front page of rape and rape culture in the last couple weeks, and having another post specifically about "this is horrible story about rape" feels like not the greatest idea. Maybe add this in one of the previous recent posts? -- cortex
