This is getting pretty fucking annoying...Does anyone besides me even read the front page? It was only 9 posts ago, and it used essentially the same language!!

Read the damn page, don't just search. This isn't your site for posting, it's supposed to be a give and take. If you aren't interested in reading what other people post then you shouldn't be posting here.

arnab: The metafilter search engine isn't google. If you give it two words together, it would appear to search for those words where they occur together. If I might make a suggestion, in future you should search for just "yahoo" and then "pop3". Try it: I just did, and it found yesterdays thread on the first search.

Don't get discouraged, arnab. It happens to everyone.

Just scroll down the page a little to see the other Yahoo! post.

wsfinkel: FYI there are many people here who don't read every thread, or even read the front page every day. There was a recent metafilter thread, where it turned out that many of us only have time to read 40% of the site now, or even less. Have you noticed how large it's been getting? Also many people only load the last 3 days posts, to avoid snarling bandwidth, so it's certainly possible to miss a thread. This one was less so, admittedly, but I just wanted to make the point that it's not incumbent on anyone to read everything any more.
