The full streams are here and here, but I haven't had a chance to watch through them, so I didn't want to put them in the post.

I'd like to see video of the actual guy playing the ocarina, and some details on how he set up his system to be controlled by the ocarina's notes. But I don't see that anywhere. Am I just missing something obvious?

The only information I can find is this in one of the Youtube video notes:
"The way this works is through a short program written in C# that translates specific pitches to keyboard inputs. We use http://pitchtracker.codeplex.com/ to determine the pitch of sound captured by the microphone to the closest note, which is then translated to key presses. Since the Ocarina only has six distinguishable notes, one of them toggles between three different control schemes for the other five notes."
But I'd really like to see a short video of the making of their setup.

This is absolutely incredible. The more I think about it, the more impressive it gets.

Unfortunately, the atonal tooting serves to create a shitty theme song for Link as he jumps about, and due to the inherent hilarity of wind instrument blarts I got hysterics and had to stop watching.

This is the best. Wow. "Professional video game player" is a fascinatingly weird entertainment niche.

Here's a little video showing how it works.

I have to go to bed now, but I just watched the equivalent of a feature film, of a man playing a video game with a wind instrument.

I think I need to review my life choices.
(but really, the full stream and chat are entertaining, if you can stand the doots)

The little trill that goes with stutter-stepping forward and to the side in little increments is too funny. I'm really impressed that he can keep up commentary while doing that, especially while having to sustain notes to hold down buttons. Hey, the Zelda wiki says you can do the spin attack by rotating the control stick and pressing the sword button instead of holding the sword button -- I wonder if that's even possible to duplicate with this setup? It'd be a pretty neat trick if so.

You could map that entire movement to a single key stroke then just play the note corresponding to that key press.
