All about that bass, that baritone, and maybe a little 'bout that tenor

New Zealand doo-wop trio The Koi Boys (Nuz Ngatai, Kevin Keepa, and Danny Faifai ) turned all the chairs with "Sh-Boom" in their audition for The Voice Australia. But it's last year's studio recording session of Meghan Trainor's All About That Bass that may turn all the heads as it brings the boom boom to the room room.
Ah, just dug up this behind-the-scenes video where they straight-up credit it as a PMJ cover.

The PMJ version is by far my favorite version of the song. Their bassist is delightful.

Sh-boom was great though! Nice harmonies and great stage presence. I think they're better playing to an audience.

The "Sh-Boom" cover is delightful. Well done, gentlemen.

That's fun stuff. They do a really nice job with that song and I always like watching musicians who in some way look like they really want to be making the music.
I don't know how I've never listened to Postmodern Jukebox because it's exactly my kind of thing and they've been in previous FPPs, but anyway there goes my evening.

You might like this then. Wait for it past the bit of the slow start. Also a coincidence that it's New Zealand folks too but whatever...

I like this all very much. And the Flight of the Conchords piece was a special delight.

I'm sorry, but the lyrics of the song ("Its pretty clear I ain't now size 2", "I won't be no stick-figure silicon Barbie doll..") really make it one that is off limits to men. On the other hand there is ample room for somebody to go and room for somebody to go out and write a song for the "learn to love my beer belly, as I do" male.

I distinctly understood a word. This is a rhythm and blues number; they've got to be careful or somebody's liable to understand what they're singing about. They should stick some old rags in their mouths and take it again from the top.

Reminds me of when Sha-na-na stepped up on stage at Woodstock.
