The Best and Worst of Olympics Reporting on Rio de Janeiro’s Favelas
The international media is aflutter with assessments of the Olympic Games, but how did the media themselves fare in reporting on the city of Rio and its favelas?

The international media ? I see only US publications in this article.

Related - I really enjoyed a piece from a VeloNews journalist (VeloNews is a cycling news source) on the Rio Olympics - Rio Notebook: Reconciling the Olympics bubble. It's a pretty simple juxtaposition of the Rio2016 vs Rio, and it was impressive to see such a thoughtful piece of writing from a sport-specific site.

RioOnWatch is a project of a Brazilian NGO. U.S. publications would be "international" to them.

That being said, Sporting News is run by a British content company. And this is more of a stretch, but AP is a U.S. based multi-national.

Oh, and there was a shout-out to The Guardian as well. And Vice (founded in Canada).

The real crime here of course is a webpage using bit.ly links. I'm not a huge fan of not being able to see what URL I'm going to when clicking on something, and it's kind of a pain to copy->paste->add plus sign to every link, and no I'm not going to install an extension because a page with this many links has no reason to hide the ball like this if they want the bit.ly link for reasons there should be a second direct link too they have more than 140 characters to work with dammit.
