Hey, youse, it's the weekend. And after the events large and small of this week, what with Hurricane Matthew and the disintegration of Donald's Trump's campaign, something seemed to be missing. That something is Walker. Late NIght 'Texas Ranger Lever! (Ooh Walker!) 5/28/04 Chuck Norris - Walker Texas Ranger - Broken Nose scene Walker Texas Ranger Fight Scene - Season One(Two)

Walker Texas Ranger is love. Walker Texas Ranger is life. Ergo, yes.

He was super in love with the lady ADA Alex something.

When my grandfather was sick with Parkinson's in the last years of his life, in the late 90s, he loved watching reruns of Walker. It was the only thing that ever soothed him when he was agitated and confused from the dementia. We all thought it was Chuck Norris's voice.

I tried to watch an episode I found while channel-surfing a few years ago, but even with recapping every single hilarious line to my friend on gchat, I only lasted five or six minutes. It's weapons-grade cheese. Even so, I'll probably always have a soft spot for Norris and Walker.

My grandfather died in 2000. Thanks for making me think of him this morning, strelitzia!

I wonder how much present-day police brutality can be laid at Walker Texas Ranger's pointy silver-capped feet?

My boyfriend and I love Walker, Texas Ranger and we're constantly trying to get people on board with it. It's such an insane show -- it's almost like outsider art and I have a theory that the majority of the scripts were failed spec scripts for other shows the writers then shoved Walker characters into. It's so tonally all over the place -- even within episodes. For a show that's supposed to be about wholesome values (in theory!), it's incredibly violent. But I also genuinely enjoy it. It's incredibly entertaining, all in all. It moves fast and doesn't make you think too hard.

I delight in recounting plots to people ("Children of Halloween", "Brainchild", and "Fight or Die" are particular favorites for this) and just listening to them go "WHAT?" I think I've brought a few people around to my side. Sadly, no one has wanted to join me in doing a podcast about Walker, Texas Ranger. Maybe one day.

I'd like to see a Netflix remake starring Grace Jones as Texas Ranger Cordelia Walker.

Absolutely delicious insanity.

I happen to have a scale for these 90s situation dramas: where does it lie on a scale of Renegade (trailer) to Picket Fences (sample)?

I think it should be watched in fast forward, with chipmunk voices.

I can't watch Chuck Norris anymore without thinking of his very public political persona.
His quote in July: "'People With a Negative View of Trump Will Be Pleasantly Surprised".
