The Painter

John Michael Talbot and his brother Terry Talbot teamed up with the London Chamber Orchestra to merge classical guitar, folk music, Gregorian chant, Queen-style layered vocals, and full orchestral arrangements into a Christmas album that I've been listening to since the early 80s: The Painter. [YT playlist, ~30m, so sorry about the commercials]

If you're only going to listen to one track from this album, I suggest Jesus Has Come.

I like this a lot. I haven't thought about John Michael Talbot for a long time, but I used to really enjoy his setting of songs from the mass, especially the Gloria.

Some really pretty guitar playing here. I also really like the chant-style "Create in Me."

Thanks, hippybear!
