My, err, complicated relationship to breakdown products of red blood cells was confused that bilirubin is yellow, whereas what was siphoned out was green when I had a naso-gastric tube siphoning the bile out of my stomach before it built up and burst my small bowel, which was blocked. That's apparently biliverdin.

And don't forget that Patrick (Captain Picard/Professor X/Ian McKellen's Pal) Stewart is playing the voice of the Poop Emoji in "The Emoji Movie". 💩💩💩

Yellow is also 'light brown' in colour space (and vice versa) so perhaps the processes to generate pee and poop aren't so different after all

I ate a whole thing of blue fairy floss (cotton candy) once and that night my poop came out blue. I rang everybody to tell them about it (this was before MMSing).

Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell and Life Noggin are also well enjoyed by the poop/pee/grossFacts enthusiasts in my household, but there's plenty of existential horror for the grownups.
