oh, piss off. "gestapo routine"? That's how this site works, and Matt has been clear in his support of that. BlueTrain didn't call jcterminal an asshole or insulted his mother, although given jc's contempt for the Metafilter community, and the fact that he snarks out on anyone who dares point out the rules, I'm surprised he didn't.

And BTW, searching for "pong" using the Mefi Google search brought it up as the second entry.

It doesn't matter that you didn't see it last time, a3matrix. Lots of people don't see lots of posts. Too bad.

I like the jct/jp bloodmatch. It creates a healthy dynamic, and you also always know who's who, and who's going to pipe up next. It also makes me think I need an adversary. You know, to give me some definition. I think it was a National Lampoon article that first put the idea in my head - the idea was to pick an author - any author, it doesn't matter which - and go berserk whenever he or she is mentioned. Spit your drink across the room, hurl your glass against the wall, and sputter "Sartre? Sartre was an utter FAKE!!" The idea is, it's better to be known as "the one who loathes Sartre" than "the one who drinks too much".
