It seems wrong to declare it on May 7th, I didn't have time to buy a card or anything.

Chipmunks are cute and all but chipmunks throwing up...not so much.

Oh, that cheeky chipmunk! Ladies and gentlemen, your next White House spokesperson.

Who is a puppy?

You are!

Oh, yes, you are!

I'm so glad that "cheeks" is spelled "cheeks", because that's exactly how a chipmunk would spell it.

:-(

I felt sorry for the chipmunk. I wanted to chase after him and say, "aww, it's okay little buddy...here, you take you some seeds...there's more where these came from."

This is why my students try to take advantage of me at the end of the semester. They sense my weakness for desperate creatures.

Does anybody besides me want to offer those face stuffing animals a beer?

Cheeky chipmunk caught red-handed stealing from bird feeder is overcome by remorse.

Do these videos have no sound or have I entered some sort of restart browser hell? Because I have entered that hell before. No sound on FF or Chrome, no sound on restart or relaunch, no sound on unmuting on video or on keyboard, no sound, and let me tell you: I do indeed want to know the sound of a chipmunk blandly spitting out two ounces of bird seed.

With the sound on, the seeds hitting the platform sounds just like the patter of soft spring rain on a tin roof. It's delightful.

WHALP here's my walk of shame where I say hey you guys there were headphones dangling down the side of the laptop that I didn't notice and hey you know what there was sound after all and while I'm embarrassed I can also say it's worth the walk of shame for hearing that dude say 'welp, that's kinda gross'.

(It wasn't; pretty much sounded like if you had a bunch of birdseed in your mouth and let it fall onto your table. I guess ear of the beholder and all that.)

Clearly I have never tried to protect a bird feeder from chipmunks before. That was the opposite of satisfying to watch!

You all have much more endearing animal interactions than I get.

I get to have disappointed warbler watch me while I'm working and silently judge me.

So am I alone in finding that chipmunk fucking hilarious and not at all gross? I am cackeling over here!

My personal favourite for animals stuffing things in their mouths is this golden retriever.

Oh man, I really, really needed both of those this morning.

Thanks, Johnny Wallflower.

My hamsters used to fill their cheek pouches with seedy food and then if I put them in the little rolly balls they would go into a corner, unload the loot, and then roll off somewhere else, scattering seed all the way.

Yes, more than once this happened, as I was a stupid child. My mother did not find it amusing.

So it's not gross at all; it's like they are emptying bags of loot, or groceries, is all.

My hamsters used to fill their cheek pouches with seedy food and then if I put them in the little rolly balls they would go into a corner, unload the loot, and then roll off somewhere else, scattering seed all the way...

I remember some of my childhood hamster buddies taking a wee hamster poop, bending over and grabbing said poop in their rodent little teeth and tossing it off in a corner. I was impresses with the ease with which they accomplished this feat.

In fact this isn't gross at all, because the seeds were in his pouches and not his throat or stomach. They don't even have any saliva in those pouches, even. My obsessive study of BBC wildlife video has revealed this nugget of info.
