Thank you for this. Being a Bic Runga fan in the US, I rarely get any context for her music. I'd love to see a similar article for Birds.

A great album, have a listen here. (YouTube playlist.) Although the last song isn't meant to be there; Without You is the proper final song from the album.

I just found out about her because one of my best friends moved back to NZ this year and is managing her 20th anniversary Drive tour. Good stuff!! It’s a small world, but still big enough that someone that famous in NZ completely missed me somehow.

Synchronicity: Just the other night my boyfriend was playing me a record by a new singer-songwriter that he'd become smitten with, and I said she sounded a bit like Bic Runga. I swear we'd discussed Bic Runga before, but he said he'd never heard of her. Anyway, I always preferred her second album - "She Left on a Monday" is my fave track of hers - but it's nice to hear from her again.
