"The title of my talk tonight is How to Conquer Stupidity, which is actually a pretty stupid thing to attempt. For me, anyway. One, it's not possible. Two, maybe it's not even desirable. the best way to avoid stupidity in a talk - don't use Powerpoint.

I like powerpoint. So long as you don't do any really stupid stuff, like use sound or animations, it's quite useful to display information and get the information across to others without too much trouble. Plus you can print off little handouts so students don't have to try to desperately scribble down everything you say and show, they can just listen, read, and have something to take home to study.

Maira was the recently deceased Tibor Kalman's partner; he was arguably one of the most important designers of our time. I didn't know her work as well as his before this: this piece is totally gorgeous and I adore her now.
