Hulu’s Alternative to the Yule Log Is a Bunch of Adorable Doggos Destroying Christmas [YouTube][Video Preview] “Like a certain deity popular this time of year, the internet giveth, and the internet taketh away. In the case of Hulu’s “Puppies Crash Christmas,” the thing being forced on us, before being magically dissolved, is stress. Released just before the holiday weekend, the hypnotic, wordless movie(?) is a half-hour of wholesome carnage, to be enjoyed by even the Grinchiest among us (but only those with Hulu accounts). Simple footage of five to 10 dogs ripping apart all the presents and lightly destroying the furniture in a tastefully appointed upper-middle-class living room, it brings together our purest instincts: to coo at adorable creatures, and to watch the world burn.” [via: Slate]

It's a shame that it's only for Hulu users but I figured there were enough people who use that streaming service that it'd be worth sharing. I love the idea of puppies causing cute holiday chaos.

This is exactly what I needed tonight. I would not have known it existed otherwise. Thank you.

Oh, I agree. I may even have a Hulu account; but, if so, I have no idea what it is.

Based on the short preview of what appears to be a pup indulging in eggnog, I suppose it turns into a scatological nightmare?

Let's not forget Keith Apicary's Yule Log, in which Nathan Barnatt drinks 7 Capris Sun. For free.

No Hulu. Here's my favorite yule log.

These puppies are the best thing that's happened to me all day.

The repetitive music in act 1 made me almost turn it off, but I'm glad I stayed.

I'm watching this and the Hallmark Channel right now. That's something done right. I had no idea about this, thanks for sharing!

I'm apoplectic over the fate of the punchbowl of eggnog, in both the best and worst possible ways.

Did you notice the stockings? They're for the Golden Girls!
I really enjoyed the punch, the milk, the gingerbread house, the tree....

I stumbled across this last night around midnight, shrieked in delight and watched the whole. damn. thing.

I even filmed the TV at one point, which resulted in "Oh my god, are you FILMING THE TEEVEE?" from husband.

Then I wake up and it's all over Vogue and such, and I feel extremely on-trend!

In summary: Worth every penny, Hulu. Well played.

Also the Golden Girls above the mantel get swapped out for a picture of Bob Ross, and the stocking just says B on it! Patron Saints Bob Ross and all the Golden Girls, protect us!

I swear there was a jar of Pickle Ricks near the wine, but maybe I was projecting? Nope, just checked again. It's totally there. As is a card that says "WINTER IS COMING."

I am partial to labs, but that Westie puppy is too much.

Another alternative to the yule log: the pixelated fireplace, now available as a final/full version for Windows and Mac, but if you root around Archive.org, you can still find a copy of v 0.5.4 for free.

I'm watching this right now and what incredible self control the camera operator(s) must have to not be cuddling with and petting all those good good puppies. What a delight.
