Chant Traditionnel

In this case, "Chant Traditionnel" is a catch all used by The Voice France on their YouTube channel to describe songs which are not the usual fare.

Here are four standouts from the last few seasons:

Luc Arbogast
Cancion Sefaradi (2013 Season)
Metafilter has dabbled with Arbogast's music before. To show he can bring it with more up-to-date fare, watch his "battle" round, singing Mad World with fellow contestant Thomas Vaccari.

Battista Acquaviva
Psaume de David (2015)
It is safe to say that Acquaviva has an impressive vocal range, though her performances on the show were pretty polarizing--listeners either really enjoyed her style or...they really didn't. Here she sings Ave Marie in the semi-finals.

Marianne Aya Omac
La Llorona (2017)
Omac surprises the coaches with her horn impression, on top of solid vocals. In the "battle" round, she sung Un Homme Debout with fellow contestant Romain in a more conventional performance.

Gulaan
Nodeï Perofeta (2018)
Harking from New Caledonia, Gulaan performed the song in Nengone, a language of the Loyalty Islands. Another clip featuring his music.

N.B. I don't speak a word of French, so apologies for any errors based on my ignorance!

My sense of France's The Voice franchise is that the coaches are generally down with unusual song choices, but DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AUDITION WITH OPERA.

That Matt judge is basically a Franco-Polish Vanilla Ice, or Glace à la Vanille

Whereas, on the UK voice, it's almost--but not quite--a guarantee that will.i.am will turn for you.
