Aubrey Plaza made a half-hour ASMR video, and some of it is about killing Jerry from Parks And Rec.

topics gently whispered include: the Upright Citizens Brigade, the NBC Page Program, the movie Funny People, the show Legion, and Molly Shannon's favorite ASMR trigger.

I was never a fan of Aubrey. I thought she was just eye rolls and teen snottyness. Then Legion, The Little Hours, and this happened. I misjudged you, funny woman.

Oh, god- Gerry is just the worst.

She's freaking brilliant, I don't GET ASMR, and, I know, that damn Jerry!

(Became a real fan after Safety Not Guaranteed)

I don't understand ASMR either but I like Aubrey Plaza enough to check this out.

I also loved Parks & Rec but I never liked the mean-spirited Jerry bashing. I get that it was supposed to be funny, but it always broke my suspension of disbelief that these supposedly nice, caring people were so shitty to him on a daily basis.

Aubrey Plaza is always the best part of whatever I see her in.

I absolutely love Aubrey Plaza and while I'm not into ASMR videos (they seldom contain what triggers ASMR for me), it is a phenomenon I'm susceptible to, so this was fantastic. (The pop when she says "April" triggers it hard.)

I watched The Little Hours last night, this is fantastic!

Separately but relatedly, I might suggest rebooting the screwball comedy genre, with Ms. Plaza as its just-behind-the-beat Roz Russell.

but I never liked the mean-spirited Jerry bashing.

Same, and for the same reason. The best parts of the finale were Donna giving Garry his name back and then seeing what happened to him over the years. Mayor Gergich was more beloved than Mayor Gunderson.

I am quite disappointed in Aubrey Plaza for joining in this bullying of poor Piggy about his ASMR.

I have this theory that everyone in P&R hated Jerry because he was happy and without want in a way they envied. Also, the farting.

I absolutely love Aubrey Plaza. I recently watched Ingrid Goes West , which was made by her portrayal the main character. She’s absolutely amazing in Legion, and she even made me like a Father John Misty song.

I concur. He never had the ethical or romantic conflicts of Leslie, he seemed happily and stabily involved in a relation with an awesome partner, unlike Ann, he believed in his job strongly, unlike Ron, plus, he was insufficiently detached and ironic, which ticked off April. But he just kept bumbling along and smiling.

Timetravelling Aubrey Plaza

To be honest, Jerry is the true winner of Parks and Rec. To be so aloof and happy, while everyone around him was stressed out like hell.

The NBC Page Program.
Bing Bing Bing.
When I graduated from college I really wanted to work on Saturday Night Live but the closest I could get was to audition for the page program. I just really liked the uniform I guess. I wanted to wear that disgusting polyester skirtsuit and lead studio tours. Which I did for a couple of months. It didn't work out for me in the page program because people thought I was a witch. I had one friend in the page program and her name was Meg Ryan. For real that was her name, Meg Ryan. It’s not the Meg Ryan that you all know, it's a different Meg Ryan. She had long dark hair and her and I were friends and we were like the dark witch pages of the program. I believe that we both got in trouble many times because I would take groups of people on the studio tours and I would take people on the studio tours and I would lie to them over and over again. I would tell them facts that weren’t true about NBC. As a game. Meg Ryan and I would come up with a game were she would say, on your next studio tour you have to use the word… then we should pick a random word like colonoscopy. And she would say you have to insert this word into your speech even if it didn’t make any sense. And I would say things like Welcome to Studio 8H were Chris Farley had a colonoscopy, live, in front of an audience. And people would go, wow, did that really happen? And I would go, No, you are stupid. I’m pretty sure I got fired early on. But I kept my uniform. And I’ll never let it go.

Fun fact: Aubrey Plaza cameoed as an NBC page on 30 Rock, in addition to being an actual page.
