If it were me I'd have a lemon juice + water mixture in a spray bottle and I would apply as work progressed.

Damn, I've seen that apple configuration done on a watermelon and been suitably impressed, but that's another level of finesse. Here I'm pleased with myself when I make a toadstool from a radish.
