He opens a box, he assembles a thing, he cooks a food. Often, music.

@iseebitarou (Twitter, Insta) is a “funny miscellaneous goods collector” (according to Google Translate). More usefully, he’s a YouTuber who makes quirky unboxing videos of Japanese products and then does something with them, never showing us more than his hands at work and never speaking a word. Usually, the products are food related and the task is cooking several meals.
Some choice examples: Using a Peyoung Yakisoba Maker to cook Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki 🥢 Tamago Kake Gohan Machine. Japanese food ”Raw Egg On Rice” 🥢 Yakitori Machine 🥢 ドラキュラのニンニクみじん切り器でニンニク料理が簡単になる!?

Another youtuber with a similar theme and style: Japanese Stuff Channel. The focus is less on home goods and more on merchandise tie-ins and odd food, but there is some overlap and it’s pleasant watching.

What is that egg machine from the first example? It makes a very frothy egg white (although it looks like a nightmare to clean)

Oh my god. The yakitori video contains the most adorable salt and pepper shakers I've ever seen. The temptation to over-season my food would be unbearable...

What is that egg machine from the first example?

It is the tamago kake gohan machine from the second example.

Wow I've only made the style of okonomiyaki where everything is mixed together- that Hiroshima style looks awesome.

Another channel like this, which I strongly recommend, is kiwami japan, who (like this) is silent and shows only their hands as they work. And that work is, mainly, making extremely sharp knives out of, e.g. bread, cardboard, rice, underwear...

The first video purged the lumps in my back and stomach that was my hellish day at work — I’m feeling so calm and happy now. Now the evening can be enjoyed. Thank you thank you. I’m saving the remainding links to lull me to sleep.

But but so stressful so much packaging waste so many tiny parts and dishes to clean I don’t understand

the 'tamago kake gohan machine' is available on amazon.ca and I'm a little tempted, but $126 is a bit much for a gadget I probably won't use more than once

Oh man that is a LOT of ramen in the first video, I sure hope he didn't film that all in one day...

The seafood and pork belly ballet in the yakitori machine is pretty awesome.

Also, I want this pepper mill.

I like all the cute dishes and gadgets but how do they store them all?? Japan is not exactly famous for its spacious apartments!

I love this style of video that seems to be adopted by a certain segment of Japanese YouTubers: people building a thing without narration, presented largely by a set of disembodied hands with no other human interaction. Kiwami Japan has already been mentioned, but there's also the japanesestuffchannel and RRcherrypie channels, both of which I know from their meditative DIY candy kit videos.

(spoiler alert if you've never seen a DIY candy kit before: the actual candy is trash, but the making of it is fun at least!)
