I have no idea how this pianist got their cat wedged into a piano or why

But the cat seems to enjoy it.

Favorite comment: Picking cat hair out of the mechanism is a small price to pay for this level of tranquility.
Not related: The Cat Organ.

This is perfect in so many ways. Of course kitty. Then the piano player. Let’s not forget the person filming. And almost lastly that piano is beautiful. Finally, as it should be repeated, kitty.

That cat has a better life than most people.

I'm left wondering how familiar that cat is with this particular piece of music. It seemed to have moments it was savoring, and it definitely knew when it was over. I've never had a cat which really responded to music much even if I have had a couple who loved to watch television (our current girl cat likes TCM b/w noir films in particular).

This was lovely, the piece was lovely (is it in a pentatonic mode? it seemed to be but with a lot of key changes maybe?)... and that cat is magnificent.

The well-tempered clavier feline.

I'm imagining the cat writing up concert reviews for their fellow felines.

I'm imagining the cat being a New Yorker reviewer and demanding to sit in the piano at Carnegie Hall in order to write a proper review.

Whenever I see clips like these (there's a Turkish pianist who also plays to his cats, Sarpar Duman, who also is super adorable), I always wonder if the cats are deaf. Because pianos are quite loud, particularly if you're laying down on them and the reverberations are passing through you.

If you're a cat, and you have a notion to purr, you're sort of used to vibrations passing through you.

Kitty seems to be getting ASMR from the vibrations. I did just from watching.

If I ever win a lottery I will be buying several of these new Floof pianos.

That is all.

A man who'd lost his right arm in WW1 once commissioned Ravel to compose a piano concerto for him that could be played entirely with the left hand. I think this cat would approve.

Paul Slade: that man was Paul Wittgenstein, brother of philosopher Ludwig.

Do cats especially enjoy piano music? I'm reminded of Sarper Duman's lovely videos

That piano piece featured in a M*A*S*H episode iirc. I don't recall If they name-checked Wittgenstein though.

Lovely all around. Looks like it's a regular event. If so, that's pretty sweet.
