My dog would like this to be deployed as soon as possible with a full range of flavors for nature documentaries.

Soon to be appearing in a Jimmy Kimmel opening monologue.

It’s a spray-on technology, so technically this is more of a flavour projector, since you could aim it at any lickable surface

Maybe this will result in the John Waters/David Cronenberg collaboration I've been waiting my whole life for.

Great, now those fast food outlets, with touch screens can allow us to taste-test what we're about to purchase, and perhaps discover what's most popular

“Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”

One would have thought COVID put a hard end to things like this but here we are.

My one nit-pick is they do the thing in the title where "Japan" has done this, but the article narrows it down to "a professor (and 30 students) at Meiji University in Tokyo" while most of Japan had no say in the matter.

Eh. If it was a prof and thirty(!) grad students at MIT doing this, I'd feel America had to own it.

Ya know, then the Nintendo DS came out, I used to joke about the Nintendo LSD (with a lickable screen).

Now we just need to enable the ability to distribute lsd in little poppable packets on the screen (how many doses could fit in a thin layer as tiny micro pockets that can be ruptured up to the top of the screen?

Well come on Ninty, whatcha waiting for?
