I would have thought of finishing up the finger holes before assembly. Seems like it would be harder to do after it was nailed together.

I know, right? After the back of the spoon hit that one off centre and bent it, it was fantastic how well it straightened out again. I've never been able to do that without leaving at least a slight wiggle, even if I use quite a good spoon.

As my builder friend Geoff has often observed, usually while looking sadly at the lamentable condition of house stumps eaten down to pointy, wobbly nubs by fifty years of contact with the soil: wood is a vegetable.
