Theft vs. Sampling vs. Re-arranging without credit

As lightly reported by Glenn Bunn at ScreenRant, a delightful-and-educational subset of TikToker @thejahni’s videos are devoted to identifying and juxtaposing moments when video games -possibly- swiped from pop songs and moments when pop songs -possibly- swiped from video games: 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sonic only), 5 (Ed: Mamma Mia!), 6.
Any Destiny fans in the crowd might hear inspiration in one of the new Witch Queen pieces from the track Moments in Love by Art of Noise.

I mean, so did many of the bands in his examples though. Video games are relatively obscure source material, so easy to rework for samples.
