George Carlin did a bit I can't find at the moment, where he says if doing stand-up is his job, then the stage must be his office, and points to a stool (with water and notes on it) as his "desk".

I just saw Nish Kumar in NYC and the stool he used was very nondescript but it had an excellent blue metal reusable water bottle on it, so I give it high marks.

I was pleased that they linked specifically to Tig Notaro's "Stool Movement" joke. Probably the best use of a stool in stand-up comedy of all time.

Glad to see Marc Maron represented, but disappointed there’s no pic of him w/ heels hooked on the top rung like some kind of hunkering creature.

The first name I saw on the list was Joe Rogan, and I thought, "wow, this really is a list of 100 pieces of shit" and then I kept reading and saw they were talking about actual stools.

Yep. She’s certainly done the bit in more traditional stand up venues, not just late night tv.

Ha! The VERY FIRST thought that went through my head was "Dave Allen with the little whiskey/ashtray attachment". I marvelled at that as young teen. To me, it was the epitome of a man who has honed his craft to a level he is comfortable with, and why shouldn't he be comfortable practising his craft
