For a moment I read that as Astro City. Sadly, no, not an adaptation of the comic book.

OK, now you've got me thinking about Wes Anderson directing an Astro City adaptation and I am surprised at how much that delights me.

I mean, if I was producing just a single Astro City film, I probably wouldn't give it to Wes Anderson. But in my fantasy world where they do an Astro City TV series where each episode has a different director given full creative freedom, the Wes Anderson episode would be a delightful bridge between the Barry Jenkins episode and the Lonely Planet episode.

The star-studded cast features a mix of newcomers and familiar faces to Anderson’s cinematic universe, including Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Sophia Lillis, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum and Rita Wilson.

It says a lot about a director, both professionally and personally, when seemingly everyone in Hollywood wants to be in your films.

I was already going to see it in the theater but that cast is insane.

Not keeping up on the cool film gossip I saw the title and thought a new science fiction movie that might be set on an actual asteroid...
