Again, cats were once worshiped as gods, and have never forgotten this.

for some reason

I mean, we've got a pretty solid working hypothesis.

If the primary phenomenological experience is: "All of this is mine!" then I'm not sure whether there's an actual problem here.

"Fionavar Cat, quit destroying my bergamot!" came out of my mouth this morning.

They are indeed destructive little nuggets, and I'd never want to be without mine.

"All of this is mine!"

"Except for THAT bit. I don't want that bit. But alllll the rest of this is MINE!"

Oooh how would one acquire a print of that Ludwig Strimpl that one might hang in the downstairs bathroom with all the other cat pictures?

Great. When they do it, it's cute. When I do it I'm a drunk asshole.

I would like a print of this magnificent painting, myself.

Just this morning, I had to take a rug to the dump after my adorable, lovable little scamp of a cat used it as her toilet. Reading this account (linked way down in the thread) of a monk whose cat did the same to his book makes me feel less alone. "Cursed be the pesty cat that urinated over this book during the night...And beware well not to leave open books at night where cats can come." Amen, brother.

"Fionavar Cat, quit destroying my bergamot!"

Huh! Bergamot is the name of my cat, who I wish would destroy my sofa less.

Someone was asking about how to stop their cat from knocking their towels off the shelf. I told them to stop putting towels on the cat perch.

Tibbles the cat, who traveled with her owner to an untouched island south of New Zealand in 1894. There, she single-pawedly caused the extinction of the Stephens Island wren, a small, flightless bird found only in that part of the world.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

You think you're fine but then they develop new habits. Out of nowhere my cat decided shredding paper (including photos) is his thing now and so I've had to learn to put everything away.

Anyone else see the title and flashed to this before actually reading the description? (Though if cats - or bunnies for that matter - were aquatic creatures, they'd probably act like that to let us know it's feeding time).
