I couldn’t find a release date for the album on streaming services, but they’re doing a concert on the 17th so hopefully by then.

Ah yes, the instant party on a platter cd. To this day I think that “Independent Women” uses the baseline from “Dreadlock Holiday.”

I was a bit late for the album - even though it’s been a freely available landmark for a long time - but I consumed all of its children ravenously. Thanks guys, you didn’t invent mashups but you helped em blow up.

A fun adventure when I saw Bootie Mashup boost the Dazed article:

"Wait, when *is* this going to be available on streaming? Ah well, let's find existing versions until then"
"Oh good, it's on SoundCloud. And here's pt. 1. And 4. And 5. 3 must've been copyright-struck?"
[...]
During a tour of Japan, they went to the Bonjour Records shop and saw a wall filled with As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pts. 1, 3, 4, and beyond – despite the fact that Pt. 2 was the only official release they made, with the rest made up of unofficial rip-offs culled from their Hang the DJ shows (they laugh, today, at the idea of bootleggers making bootlegs of their bootlegs).
That explains it.

Finally, I remember that the Internet Archive has the Bootleg Archive, a 89GB collection of pre-2013 mashups.
Lo and behold, As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2, in downloadable form! And the unofficial pts. 1-10, to boot.

I followed them on Spotify, and under the bell notification icon on the home page you can see which artists you follow released new music, and I do that regularly anyway, so hopefully will see there.

I'm a big fan of Soulwax, especially for their (officially released) remixes. A Soulwax remix is never not good. They're consistently well arranged and always sonically powerful.

Today I learned their latest got a Grammy nod. It's pretty good for a Grammy nominated track.
