Damned if I didn't just watch all of that (with liberal use of skip forward). The pharma commercial absolutely kills.

The pharma commercial is Unedited Footage of a Bear, released about ten years ago and truly a classic.

I was impressed more by Unedited Footage of a Bear than I was Too Many Cooks and it's my favorite of those fake ads. I think it's pretty much flawless.

I was reminded of those Adult Swim short films recently when I looked up the two Oscar winning directors for "Everything Everywhere All At Once". Turns out they directed one of them.

I guess I'm old now, I didn't get much out of this. But I did like that Space Ghost Coast To Coast was in the midst of all of that.

Maybe someday they'll show that Venture Bros. movie we were promised.

Oh, Hi Dad, I'm In Jail is by Steven Jesse Bernstein! I have his one full album, Prison, that this track is from, and it's one of the more interesting things in my music library. Not to everyone's taste, that's for certain.

"Dad I'm In Jail" was written and performed by Don and David Was, aka Was (Not Was), although you'd be forgiven for confusing its hectoring style with SJB. It's found on their 1988 album, What Up, Dog?, better known for containing "Walk the Dinosaur." Steven Jesse Bernstein's Prison was arranged and produced by PNW indie superproducer Steve Fisk from pre-recorded readings by Bernstein, and it is a masterpiece. RIP SJB.

“I guess I'm old now, I didn't get much out of this.”

Dude, you're eight years younger than me.

‘Dad I'm in Jail’ is a great song and more representative of Was (Not Was) than ‘Walk the Dinosaur’, though they did record a banger now and then that made it onto the radio. But there's a bunch of delightfully weird shit on their albums. I bought 1983's Born to Laugh at Tornadoes when it was released, prompted by a postive review in Playboy. That was a long time ago!

Dad I'm in Jail was on the mixtape my ex-wife gave me when we first met in 1989, along with "Shoehorn with Teeth" by TMBG. I knew she was a keeper. (But, uh, only for a while, I guess.)

That's so strange that my brain put that track on the wrong album. Of course I know Was (Not Was) and that album.

Getting older can be an awkward process.

That train video at the end was amazing. Now I've fallen down the YouTube CABVIEW rabbit hole.
