Cypress Hill with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Following their Tiny Desk Concert, they played all of Black Sunday. With an orchestra. On the 30th anniversary of the album's release. (Here are fan videos of 'How I Could Just Kill a Man,' and 'Insane in the Brain.')

Obligatory "Simpsons did it first" comment

Obligatory "did you even watch the opening seconds of the main video?"

I was wondering why Peter Frampton was spotted wandering around Denver muttering about something about his orchestra being stolen.

Between this and the Mannie Fresh / Juvenile Tiny Desk Concert, all my favorite 90's hiphop is getting a sort of "high culture" 2020's revival.

I still listen to "Hits from the Bong" so I'm a little disappointed they didn't play it.

How the hell did they record the sound? They didn't use the soundboard output? The sound was awful.

Yeah, I really expected to love this, but I agree with zouhair about the sound.

They are crowd recordings, so literally recorded with an iphone. No production crew involved.

I find it nearly impossible to imagine that this wasn't recorded for later release, so that's probably why it's only lo-fi for now.

i'm tellin ya, the whole production crew of three-hundred PAs, cinematographers, camera operators, floor directors, everyone in the production van, the broadcast crew, everyone, the whole 500-person production crew—they was baaaaaaked, and they left all the expensive equipment they rented, all $500,000 it took to fund that night's worth of shooting, all 750 crew members, left it all with the intern and their iphone, to go and get some donuts and look at the mountains. Cypress Hill took a big hit that night.

A big hit FROM THA BONG

Dude looks like he's about to go into the coffee shop I'm at and tell the barista how he could just kill a double vanilla soy latte.

That's usually Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes.

Audio in this one isn’t great either, but it sounds a little better to my ears, and video is much closer to stage.

Amazing post, thank you for this!
