I appreciate how this begins with simple ideas and moves into more and more decorative, so by the end it's very complicated but you could adapt the process to your own interest and skill level.

My favorite will always be a simply carved pumpkin...eyes, nose and mouth, with a real candle inside. The soot from the candle covers the top of the interior and smells wonderful...
