Thanks for this! That "Liquid Lace" video is astounding. I love the idea of leaning away from proper calibration to see what you get.

I’m going to have to try “Fireworks of Viscous Fingering” at home!

That lace video was the first scientific video I’ve ever seen with music synced to the visuals. Nice….

Paper marbling. Space out to Gymnopédie 1 and gorgeous colours - return for the scientific overlay. Or just go through again for the art as the science swooshes over the head.

A long while back a friend of mine was getting her PhD at UC Berkeley and was defending her thesis in front of an audience that included a guy who was apparently one of the biggest figures in the field of fluid dynamics. Afterwards I ended up taking a piss in the urinal next to his, which I thought was pretty hilarious. Anyways, on to the link.

I'm a marbler and was surprised at how much science is embedded in this ever-so-fussy art form. I get remedial chemistry and physics lessons every time I do it.

This was lovely, thanks for posting!
I wish they would've credited their musical accompaniments though. Even public domain music lifts up things like this, the frost video was helped a great deal.

Loved to see the coastal temperature patterns as surveyed by airplane.
