Elephant sanctuary beginning in Portugal. Arguably also a climate-migration project.

I was glad to learn of this and enjoyed the video. There's something very encouraging, uplifting and reassuring about it - a something to do with the fact that there are people out there taking care of business, aware of problems of which I am utterly ignorant and devising solutions to them. A reminder that one is not alone, that there is a tribe to which we belong and it's busy. Maybe things aren't as frightful as they seem when you learn that there are folks who without thanks or recognition raise the funds, make the connections, do the research to make the world a kinder, less self regarding place. Plus elephants are cool. The Alentejo is wonderful and the combination of the two breaks the bank!!! Thanks for this clew

Our tribe is busy! Yes.

I liked the bit about the barn that had been examined and judged elephant-worthy. At that barn’s beginning someone wondered whether to make it punier or cut corners; because they didn’t there’s cover for elephants.
