Getting a bit LOST in 2024

YouTuber Billiam continues his examination of television series LOST (previously, previouslier) with his new video LOST: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE UNIVERSE [6h40m]. This fourth and not final installment examines season 5, the philosophical roots of the show, ancillary material such as novels, videogames, and ARGs, and tries to untangle the time travel maze of the plot. This is a deeper dive than you're expecting, even if you've seen the previous installments, and he's finding treasures in the depths. He swears the next episode will be the last.

I find I am less interested in this kind of thing for shows that I know weren't planned in advance... Or really, uh, planned.

It mostly began in Ann Arbor.

Clearly I'm not hanging with the 'tube cool kids, six hour long SLYT clip, what, ok, tell me that he does it in a single cut straight through and I'll watch it, really six hours on a TV show, whew, wow, I am just missing out here.

Yow.

Um, so... Billiam has done a LOT of hours of LOST analysis already, if you look at the previously links in the post you'll see that. He's at, I believe, 12 hours or more of this so far.

What is really great about this one is that he really gets into the weeds. He starts digging into philosophers and physicists and at some point I completely gave in because this guy has decided to give all the footnotes that the authors of the series neglected to give.

Honestly, given how every segment of this series about LOST has expanded beyond his planned control, I don't even expect his expected final episode about the final season to be the final episode. It might expand into two episodes... or three!

Go back to "previouslier" in the FPP and start there. You shouldn't leap in with this 6 hour long link. He has a beginning point, and that's where you go.

Seems like a weird thing to devote hours and hours of video to.

Doesn't this guy have any opinions on iCarly?

You jest, but someone else absolutely make a 5 hour iCarly video that has 5.5 million views. And another 3.5 hour video with 4.4 million views

With another video of X length to come!

Still shorter [and with more background and depth into the ideas behind the series] than watching the series itself.
