And the videography is very impressive.

Yeah, when I first saw the case I wondered how many hundreds of dollars they spent to have something that big printed in resin, then they showed that it was just FFM, sanding, bondo, and a lot of filler primer.

That was a crazy amount of work. With all the dead Macs out there to scavenge a shell from, it seems to be a rather Quixotic project, but I salute you, crazy German guy!

I think people don't really understand is that it is nearly impossible to find 4:3 aspect ratio screens nowadays. For a project like this you really have to dig deep for obsolete hardware. That's the part that blew me away.

This was quite a sight to behold. What a bananas project. Banana 6000 even.

The number of individual skills required... wildly impressive.

But does it have the programmer’s key?

Apart from the time dedication to the project, that's actually the most impressive part of this build, honestly. Using billions of dollars worth of printing gear and then taking weird shortcuts (not embossing, soldering like a barbarian, using that super weird USB hub) wasn't really the main thing that blew me away. What blew me away was (A) how much time was spent on the project, and (B) that this person somehow found a 4:3 panel.

I know the video opens saying that the old motor-loader GCR drives are hard to come by in their area, but they can't possibly be harder to come by than a 4:3 panel. Those are all simply GONE.
