Like a grid, but for movies

moviegrid.io - "Select a movie for each cell using the clues that correspond to that cell's rows and columns... Each game, you have nine movie guesses to fill out the grid. Each movie, whether correct or incorrect, will count as one of your nine guesses. If a movie poster pops up, congratulations -- you got it right you little cinephile."

New game every day. Playable archives. Fun variants. More points awarded for more obscure answers. A better name than Filmle which you just have to believe was considered.

Weird. I tried today's puzzle and got my first few guesses wrong even though they fit the criteria. Then I tried it in a different browser with IMDB open thinking, "Which of these movies did they probably choose for this category?" And I got 9/9.

Does "whether correct or incorrect" mean you whether or not you picked something that fit the criteria, as long as it wasn't the movie they were thinking of it will still count as a guess? Because when you get the movie they were thinking of, it doesn't subtract a guess... To me "correct" is the one they were thinking of and "incorrect" is all the other ones but it looks like they used correct and incorrect differently...idk I think the instructions aren't written well. But still fun I guess.

I ranked top 6% for players on today's grid so tried a (selected at random?) archived grid only to use up all of my guesses on "Margaret Qualley/Title longer than 3 words" with Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019), which I know is correct, and when it revealed the answers after 9 guesses was the top answer. So... yeah, implementation seems to be a bit glitchy.

* cracks knuckles *

I clocked off work early because I was sick and I have a movie blog.

Let's do this.

I love this game. I had been trying to play the sports-related ones, but my memory for that sort of stuff is not good. I'm not exactly a cinephile, but this is much more fun for me.

I SWEAR Ethan Hawke was in that movie I was thinking of!

For folks that are having issues with it accepting correct answers, you have to pick the title from the list that pops up as you type. Maybe there is a browser issue, or something happening with a pop-up blocker?

What do the percentages mean in each square after you guess?

The percentages are how popular that answer was among all the guesses for that cell, I think.

Yeah, it's sort of like Pointless. You're trying to get the most obscure correct answers.

I don't understand "Clue Information". How does it relate to the puzzle?
The hardest part of this for me is understanding how it works.

9/9 Correct
Score: 2545

Got 0% for one of my squares so I guess it was an unusual choice.
