Ah, he's just angling for a spot on Behind the Music That Sucks.

Hasselhoff told the magazine he eventually went back to the Betty Ford Center and after his treatment attended daily meetings of recovering alcoholics while filming a reunion movie for his international hit TV show "Baywatch."

thank god his drinking won't interfere with his acting!

Actually, I find that drinking improves David Hasselhoff's acting. At least, the drunker I am, the better he seems.

From the article: The "Baywatch" reunion, "Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding," is set to be aired by Fox in February. Fox is a unit of News Corp. Ltd.

That just about says it all.

one fox exec to another: "holy shit, hasselhoff showed up sober!"

2nd fox exec: "well there goes our product."

1st fox exec: "maybe the germans won't notice. . . "

"I once thought about writing a book called 'The Minibar and Me," he said." . . . looks like he is a part of the 81% of people who have books inside them.

Woe to you who merrily jest about the misfortune of others, for one day you too shall face adversity and challenge.

Actually, that sound you're hearing is simply the echo of him hitting rock bottom many, many years ago...

I'm not jesting about the misfortune of others, internook. Merrily or otherwise. It sounds like Hassellhoff had a real drinking problem, and I'm glad he's getting help.

I still think he's a bad actor.

Hopefully his old buddy K.I.T. will stand by him...

[sarcasm] Really? This is so surprising. He seemed so together when he did Celebrity Fear Factor last year and lost after the first stunt. [/sarcasm]

internook: sure it's not nice to "merrily jest" about the misfortune of others. but it's a bit different when the sinner feels it necessary to tell the entertainment media all the gory details:

Actor David Hasselhoff left an alcohol treatment program in June after one day, got drunk at a nearby hotel and ended up unconscious in the emergency room of a local hospital, he told TV Guide . . .

Hasselhoff is using his own sloppy, personal tradgedy to sell the Baywatch special (3 mentions in article) and to boost awareness of the Knight Rider movie in development (1 detailed mention). It's basic, sleazy Hollywood PR. So forgive a cynical response to an asinine T.V. Guide confession.

Crash: It's too late. He's already been on Behind the Music That Sucks. Direct to flash. It was cute.

Sorry, flash animation here.

blade, did you mean KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand)?

Maybe Gary Coleman can help him out.

...and we are your tortured audience. Jeez, David, I guess it'as a good thing KITT was looking after things, huh?

At least with KITT around he wasn't driving under the influence..(sorry for the old joke).

Wow that's kinda surprising. I saw him parading through Century City Mall a few years ago trailing a billowing cape and I thought for sure that was when he hit rock bottom.

I hope he hasn't broken his ego. I hear those can sometimes be a real bitch to fix.

I hope this article didn't drive him to drink.

I'm confused... From the customer reviews of his greatest hits compilation, it would seem like his life is going quite well. What gives?

I often wondered why celebrities feel the need to confess their sins to the media, and am just as cynical. However, a few weeks ago, someone asked that question in Walter Scott's "Personality Parade" in PARADE magazine. (Be damned if I could find a copy of it online...the PARADE site has the August 25, 2002 issue in its online archives, but you have to pay to see it. You can at least read the question, though.) Anyway, Scott replied that most rehab clinics have shady employees who leak juicy info for cash, and Hasselhoff just wanted to come clean before rumors got started. So apparently that's why he spilled...although, I still think a lot of celebrities like the drama and attention received after "confessing their sins". Whatever.

Maybe he'll make some gay porn to support his drinking habit.

Think AA, replace 'celebrities' with regular folk.

I don't know what's more criminal: a former lead actor in two hit television series, raking in tens of thousands of dollars for thespic work that can best be compared with a smug form of asparagus and claiming to be "rock bottom," or a Parade writer sharing the same sobriquet as a great Scotsman.

Personally, I thought this video was "rock bottom".

I would like to notify the media that I've hit rock bottom. Think I'll get on the cover of some magazines if I do that? Who do I call?
