Newsworthy it's not -- but hey, it's the weekend: what's with mySimon's creepy mascot? Looks like a cross between MTV's Carson Daily ... and a pod person (if there's a distinction).

Back in January I interviewed at MySimon.com (right before they were bought by C|Net). One of the things that I brought up in the interview was that the mascot gave me the creeps and that they should consider re-designing it or dropping it altogether for something else. Needless to say, they didn't like my opinion much but did admit that I wasn't the first person to comment about it. Part of me thinks that their 3D Animator who created the mascot, and who has been on staff for quite some time, doesn't take criticism too well, as they continue to use the Simon character with no alterations, despite the comments made by users of MySimon, and by comments like the ones in this forum.

No, I didn't get the job.
