Steven Harris is a freelance photographer based in Beijing, China, and on occasion in his hometown, Boston. Steven looks for the essence of a place, the spirit of a people, and the heart of a complex story. Incredible pictures from China, Mongolia, Gaudi and elsewhere. Enjoy...

Nice pictures, Shike.
They remind me of my trip through China and Mongolia last Summer, and they inspire me to continue developing my skills as a photographer...
I wonder how Stephen Harris managed to base himself in Beijing. That's something I would like to be able to work out (pretty much anywhere in Mainland China or farther south (Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos).

specialk420: ok, why's that one better? flash? chiefly black and white photos? tons and tons and tons of contrast? controversial/"hard" subject matter?
The Yemen photos were nice, but overall I found the site and the photos a little overwrought. I mean, what did you expect to see in a small third-world slaughterhouse? Not that I'm one to judge...
I thought the Harris photos did a fine job of expressing the details of the places he visited.
